Hi, I'm Holly. I'm glad you're here.

I earned my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 2018 and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating addiction, grief, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and relationship conflict. I have years of experience in private clinics, schools, residential treatment centers, and intensive outpatient programs, providing both therapy and clinical supervision.

After seeking mental health support in my twenties, I recognized how little I knew about facing my emotions. The process of learning to identify, explore, and accept my feelings (the good, the bad, and the ugly) gave me a sense of peace I did not realize was possible. Since then, I've worked to bring that same education and empathy to others. I truly can't imagine a way I'd rather spend my time.

In therapy, I show up as a real person. I use patience and humor to create a space that is nonjudgemental and doesn't feel too "clinical" or "stiff." My primary intent is to view and treat each person as the unique and complex individual they are. I love helping clients understand the core beliefs and patterns that are causing distress. I pull from evidence-based modalities like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to provide concrete tools for a more fulfilling life.

What I Provide

Empathy

I love being a source of consistency, kindness, and encouragement to others – especially because I personally know the pain that comes from feeling isolated and lost. I believe firmly that we are worthy of being seen and loved in our entirety, flaws and all. That's where the true healing comes from.

Understanding

My interest in this work stems from my own experiences with mental health. I’ve learned that the more we share our pain with others, the lighter and more whole we feel. I use my past experiences to create an atmosphere of true understanding and acceptance.

Relationship Repair

Our relationships are one of the most foundational aspect of our lives, and yet we’re often missing a few key pieces of information about how to best build and nurture them. I use concepts from emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to deepen relationships through boundaries and effective communication.

Practical Tools

I pull from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to provide practical tools to handle emotions, increase mindfulness, calm the nervous system, and improve relationships

Trauma Healing

Through a trauma-informed, gentle perspective, we can process past experiences that impact your current-day perception of yourself and the world.

Flexibility

You'll have the freedom to choose your own goals and pace. I will challenge you when necessary, but I will always respect you as the expert on your own experience.

Values Clarification

I love helping people clarify their values. Values serve as guideposts, directing us towards to the life we want to be living. We can explore boundaries, hobbies, and relationships that bring you closer to your true self.

Resources

After being part of the treatment and recovery community since 2012, I have many resources and suggestions community-based groups (like 12-Step, Dharma Recovery), psychiatric support, therapy groups, and treatment programs.
